The seawaters show all shades of blue, of green, and all combinations of both colors. Milos beaches can be sandy, stoned or with perlite, a light sand of which the island is a major world producer. No bus goes there, so one needs private transport or uses a taxi. The access is very easy, on a narrow road in a good condition. Another bonus is the fact that from the beach you can watch the sunset in the direction of antimilos while the entire valley is bathed in a pleasantly warm light.. Plathiena is a lovely beach on the northern side of milos.
Discover the available tours or get there with your own. It certainly is a great place to rest in sun and beach and besides, there are several fishing villages near there that are worth visiting. This is a beautiful beach in the north of milos island, cyclades, south aegean, greece... And this is the way i still go to plathiena till now.
Plathiena scores with unbelievably shallow water that warms up to bathtub temperature in the bay.. Ancient theatre and catacombs of milos are also within 2 mi. Not the best beach milos, but a really nice site. It certainly is a great place to rest in sun and beach and besides, there are several fishing villages near there that are worth visiting. No bus goes there, so one needs private transport or uses a taxi. A bit secluded and not organized, this beach doesn't get much frequented in summer, so it provides a nice place to relax. Plathiena is by far my favourite beach on milos' peninsula with the villages (adamas included).
